Cub
TrailerCUB is a horror adventure in which a young imaginative twelve-year-old boy named Sam heads off to camp with his Cub Scouts pack, leaders Peter and Chris and quartermaster Yasmin. Once they enter the woods, Sam quickly feels something is not quite right. He soon stumbles upon a mysterious tree house and meets a shifty, masked feral-looking child. When Sam tries to warn his leaders, they ignore him: the boy often tells tall tales and Sam’s mysterious past which he refuses to talk about makes his leader Peter mistrust him. As Sam gets more and more isolated from the other scouts, he becomes convinced a terrible fate awaits them: the Feral Child, it turns out, is the helper of the Poacher, an evil psychopath, who has riddled the forest with ingenious traps and is intent on slaughtering the scouts… one by one…Actors: Maurice Luijten, Evelien Bosmans, Titus De Voogdt, Stef Aerts, Jan Hammenecker, Gill Eeckelaert, Noa Tambwe Kabati, Ricko Otto, Louis Lemmens, Thomas De Smet, Pieter De Brabandere, ...»Director: Jonas GovaertsCountry: InternationalDuration: 84 minQuality: HDRelease: 2014IMDb: 5.90 CommentsSort By- Newest

Critic Reviews of "Cub"
Time OutJuly 27, 2015Referencing everything from 'Suspiria' to 'The Cabin in the Woods', this is a horror movie made by and for genre fans - but that's not necessarily a good thing.
Minneapolis Star TribuneApril 09, 2015This backwoods camping adventure and folk-legend fusion flies off the rails, unleashing a grotesque and vile nature in every character. "Cub" will leave you wanting to pack up your things and head home early.
Film InquiryJanuary 09, 2017Cub ends up being a predictable dull mess which simply recreates past films that the director has seen, without any sense of originality or fun.
Irish TimesMarch 07, 2016Cub is characterised by terrific performances (especially from the pre-teen cast), playfully ghoulish bloodwork, and the most inventive instruments of death we've seen since the Saw franchise ran out of ideas.
The Sun (UK)December 21, 2015The film's producers should give audiences a sew-on badge for surviving this.
FILMINK (Australia)October 21, 2015Similar in tone to Let The Right One In, it starts slowly and builds into a fantastical and creepy look at childhood.
Contactmusic.comOctober 09, 2015At a time when horror movies seem to only want to make the audience jump, it's great to find one that bothers to build a sense of dread.
TheHorrorShowAugust 23, 2015Feels a bit like 15 slasher movies you've already seen, but also ends up being a rather novel, unpredictable, and insane little horror flick.
ScotsmanAugust 03, 2015The film creates a pleasing air of mystery that director Jonas Govaerts sadly loses all interest in sustaining.
Observer (UK)August 02, 2015The build-up is entertainingly eccentric, and there's some ingenious booby-trappery at work among the pines, but Cub runs dry once it knuckles down to the routine bloodletting.
Sky MoviesJuly 30, 2015Cub will keep gorehounds happy, but its cruel dismissal of youth makes it disturbing in more ways than it should be.
