Black Panther
TrailerAt first glance, you can decide that Wakida is the usual territory of wild Africa, but it is not. Here, in the depths of desert lands, there are deposits of unique metal that can absorb vibration. Many tried to get to him, ruining everything in their path and bringing death to the aborigines, but each time the mysterious spirit of the savannah - the Black Panther - rose to protect the oppressed. After many years, the trouble again comes to Wakidu, and this time the...Actors: Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Also, I see nothing wrong with social justice warrior, and black lives matter, since they are both relevant topics, unlike you. do everyone on the site a favor and cut the negativity. Go away2019-03-10 06:03TruthBTold AnonymousI read a comment that suggested "The Justice League" was better than this film. Lmao! I can only laugh at that opinion. Also, in the same comment, the poster suggested that there was a Black Lives Matter message undertone to this film. But the truth of the matter is that Marvel has always incorporated a lot of real-life social issues into their comics, had the poster truly been a fan of both Marvel and DC comics, he/she would've known that much. So it isn't a reach for Black Panther to incorporate some social issues in it's film, just as other Marvel films have done. X-Men alone is based on hate-groups and fearmongering against Mutants. Magneto represents "Supremacy" while Professor X represents Unity. And of course the antagonists putting them against each other, is the government. "Friends of Humanity" and the "Purifiers" are considered hate-group fictional Marvel characters. Hell, and if you really want to get down and dirty, Marvel even went as far as to create the "Black Panther vs the KKK" story, where the actual Ku Klux Klan is incorporated into the Marvel Universe. As far as the fictional metals Vibranium and Adamantium is concerned, Vibranium is the better metal because it's more "workable", plus there are two kinds of it. There's Wakandan Vibranium and Artic Vibranium. Wakandan Vibranium absorbs energy and it's what Captain America's shield is made of - even Wolverine can't break Captain's shield or pierce it even if he clawed at it all day long. But that doesn't mean Vibranium isn't indestructable because it is. With enough force, Captain's shield can be broken, and it has before. Artic Vibranium on the other hand, is the direct opposite, it doesn't absorb energy, it gives it off. And it's powerful enough to do serious damage to Adamantium. But because Wakandan Vibranium is still considered to be in it's infancy as far as what it can do, the extent of it's power and strength is yet unknown. Black Panther has already destroyed Ultron in a battle once by simply slicing his claws through the robots' metal frame - which was made of Adamantium Alloy by the way. And at that time, BP's claws was infused with some Artic Vibranium. So if Vibranium is able to work with Artic Vibranium in some way, to the point where BP used it to destroy Ultron, as well as make a shield strong enough that even Wolverine can only scratch it - I'm rolling with Vibranium. Adamantium may be the strongest metal, but it's limited in how it can be used. So to that poster "NoMoreSJWmovies" who appears to be biased and a little bit envious or jealous of how good this Black Panther film truly is, and how much more popular it was than the film "The Justice League." Even as a DC fan, I was disappointed with "The Justice League" film. I felt they down played Cyborg's abilities, costume and powers and made him more robo-cop like than "alien tech." Technically speaking, Cyborg is an "Alien-Human" whose body has been merged into the machine used to keep him alive, as well as merged with the technically advanced alien form. The only box office draw for DC characters has been Batman and up until recently, Wonder Woman. They totally screwed up Justice League, Superman and Aquaman. They employ the wrong directors and producers, and they're not about making good films, they are looking to make "money." This is why Marvel films do better. And to be honest, casting Gal Gadot as "Wonder Woman", was a bad choice. Gal Gadot is scrawny, skinny and don't say "Strong" to me. They should've chosen the actress who starred in "Deadpool" as the female villain or found a newbie. Just because Gal is tall and pretty, doesn't mean she's the best pick imo. Black Panther was done right. Marvel chose the right director, he had the vision and the ability to tell the story as well as depict it. The supporting cast, was as perfect as you can get in a film. My only criticism, is Forrest Whitaker's accent and the implied dependency Panther seemed to have on everybody around him. I feel, the Dora-Milaje showed up strong in this film, Nikiya showed up strong, Erik Kilmonger was a beast in this film, Klaue was truly masterful in his efforts, even M'baku and the Queen, added depth of characters and story. But I feel BP's introduction in Captain America, was a hotter performance overall for Chadwick, than in his own film. I felt that he down played his badassery to allow for his costars to shine, and I don't think they needed the assistance - they knocked it out the park! But that's not criticism of this film, it's criticism of Chadwick's portrayal of a young King thrown into the position unexpectedly and trying to figure things out. I know this is supposed to be the initial time frame of him taking the throne, but they combined so many storylines in this to the point where they've preemptively killed off BP's greatest rival to the point where they would be unable to bring in Nakia's character at a later date, because it was Erik Kilmonger who influenced, tortured and created her superpower character eventually. I truly enjoyed this film in theater's more than once. The acting was phenomenal, the colors and costumes was historic, the infusion of real-life customs, languages, and the diversity of tribes was unforgettable. To suggest that any other Comic Book film was somehow "better" than this one, you'd be hard-pressed to prove why by comparison, without attempting to down play the relevancy or the symbolism incorporated in this film compared to other comic book films. The only other comic book character film, that is on this level of dramatic, fictional-realistic-fantasy, was "The Dark Knight" series. Not "Wonder Woman", not "The Justice League", not "Iron Man", Captain America, Avengers, X-Men, Wolverine, Aquaman, Antman, Spiderman, Batman vs Superman, Superman, Spawn, Catwoman, etc...2019-01-29 22:01xamza Anonymous#WakandaForever2019-01-28 03:01Weng AnonymousThanl u and i love u to this site.. Critic Reviews of "Black Panther"
Salon.comFebruary 19, 2018When it comes to creative visuals, engaging action and likable characters, "Black Panther" stands confidently next to the best fare offered up by the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The AtlanticFebruary 17, 2018Whether or not this is the best film Marvel Studios has made to date-and it is clearly in the discussion-it is by far the most thought-provoking.
Chicago ReaderFebruary 16, 2018The identity politics provide a fresh spin to the genre's increasingly tedious narrative formula.
New YorkerFebruary 16, 2018Jordan has swagger to spare, with those rolling shoulders, but there's a breath of charm, too, all the more seductive in the overblown atmosphere of Marvel. He's twice as pantherish as the Panther.
Christian Science MonitorFebruary 16, 2018Coogler is trying for a lot of things in Black Panther, probably too many, but there is also a winning modesty to his ambition.
San Diego ReaderFebruary 16, 2018Ultimately, it's more interesting to think about than it is to watch.
Spliced PersonalityFebruary 19, 2018Jordan *hurts* in this movie. He aches in a way our bullet-proof, melancholy Prince could never begin to understand, lashing out at the very fantasy this comic book movie represents. This wonderfully messy film is actually angry at itself.
Sunday Times (UK)February 18, 2018Coogler has brought off something impressive here: he's made one of the few halfway watchable Marvel movies and returned the comic strip to the streets where it belongs.
Killer Movie ReviewsFebruary 18, 2018balances the mystical and profane elements of the story, giving them equal weight in a challenging story in which the definitions of wisdom and of compassion become the real struggle.
The MercuryFebruary 18, 2018Didn't wow me quite as much as some of the other Marvel superhero movies, but that is because this movie that puts story and solid character development ahead of spectacle.
Sunday Independent (Ireland)February 18, 2018I confess to superhero fatigue but this diversity fest is refreshing -- it takes on race and gender, it's quite serious, both in terms of politics and lack of humour, but it is well made by director Ryan Coogler, [and] has lots of action and heart.
