Troy Hul Arnold a native of New York, and a BFA Textiles and Surface Design graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). His background in high fashion includes renowned fashion houses such as Salvor Projects, Maiyet, TSE Cashmere, Nicholas Kirkwood, Jeremy Scott, Peter Som, Donna Karan, and Nautica Sportswear to name a few. Upon completing his degree at FIT in early 2007, he took on a design consultancy, working alongside Founder Ross Menuez of Salvor Projects. In the first season of his contribution, pieces were handpicked by Adrian Joffe for Dover Street Market London and Ginza, eventually leading the brand to become a finalist of the Cooper Hewitt National Design Award, and his being awarded the Ecco Domani Fashion fund for Young Designers. In early 2010, Troy was introduced to Tracy L. Cox, stylist to actress Sarah Jessica Parker, to collaborate on a project commissioned by luxury Jeweler Fred Leighton luxury to be displayed alongside Sophie Theallet and Valentino for "Vogue Fashion's Night Out" during New York Fashion week. Having worked in the industry for over a decade, in December of 2013, Troy and his then partner Bopha Hul launched the brand HUL ARNOLD (a combination of their surnames), a women's and menswear brand focused on redefining luxury fashion through a radical approach on the 'One World' concept, where the worlds of femininity and masculinity converge. Featured profile of the brand's work was published in Wallpaper Magazine's fashion news article 'Low Theatre: South Bronx-based designers Hul Arnold explores futurist fluidity'. In late 2015, the brand was approached by Young Steinway Artist Jocelyn Ho to collaborate alongside 15 other multidisciplinary composers, scientists, and visual artist on her international recital tour, "Synesthesia Playground." The tour premiered on May 1st, 2016 at Staller Center Stony Brook University, and on May 6th at the NYC Spectrum. For said project, Hul Arnold partnered with Jocelyn to create a dimensional spacer mesh ensemble entitled, 'Musculi.' Today Troy continues to work on personal projects, while maintaining a presence as an Adjunct Instructor at Parsons The New School, where he teaches BFA, & AAS in the School of Fashion. Show less «
