Born May 3,1950 in New York City, Tom Farrell studied filmmaking and acting under Nicholas Ray (director of "Rebel Without A Cause") at Harpur College of SUNY Binghamton. Nick believed that the only way to teach filmmaking was by making a movie with his students entitled "We Can't Go Home Again," which premiered in the Cannes Film Festival in May 1973. In his final months Nick recruited Tom to work on what was to be his last film made with Wim Wenders called "Lightning Over Water." Tom would collaborate with Wim as an actor on 4 more movies, notably, as the Screaming Man in"Paris, Texas" written by Sam Shepard, the winner of the Palme d"Or in the Cannes Film Festival in 1984.
