After graduation he studied photography and later law in Bonn, Germany. He also studied "fine art" at Urbino, Italy. During his time at University he already produced and directed his first movie "Jannan-the extradition" which was shown in independent program-cinemas in Germany from 1986 on. He also started working for TV and news production companies in the former German capital city of Bonn. One of the main subject he was covering very early was aviation and especially aviation safety.He later worked as a consultant and expert for international Law firms, such as Kreindler & Kreindler in New York and Colson, Hicks, Eidson & Partners in Miami. He was expert consultant on behalf of the German State Prosecutors Office at Frankfurt following the accident of a Boeing 757 belonging to the Turkish carrier Birgenair in 1996.Since the 80ies he worked for numerous international television stations and media outlets covering news, current affairs, consumer affairs, civil unrest's and wars (Iraq, former Yugoslavia). From 1998 until 2005 he became a correspondent for a Swiss media outlet in the USA and German TV stations. he also published numerous articles in newspapers, weekly magazines and specialized aviation media such as Flight International, Air Safety Week and Aviation Today.During the mid 90ies he investigated the illegal trade in bogus aircraft parts, following the fatal crash of a Norwegian charter plane on its way to Hamburg. This investigation resulted in the documentary film "The Risk is on Board". Almost a decade later he was allow to follow the one year long investigation of a special task force unit under the leadership of an Italian state prosecutor into bogus aircraft trade originating from Italy. This resulted in the documentary feature film "Operation Latin Phoenix".Since 2008 he is conducting extensive research into the subject of contaminated aircraft cabin air. He was author and producer of many TV programs in current affairs broadcasts on this subject on German television. In September 2011 he was one of the six experts who testified in a non-public hearing in the German parliament on this subject. From 2013 to 2015 he produced, filmed and directed the first comprehensive and independently produced, journalistic documentary about the subject. Show less «
