Thoeger Hansen

Thoeger Hansen was born on the island of Bornholm, Denmark, to Kathleen Anne Feeney, an American hippie a few years out of college living abroad, and Thomas Høy Hansen, a Danish hippie seaman. Dubbed Thøger (English spelling: Thoeger) on his birth certificate, he was known from infancy by his middle name Iana, a variation of a Sanskrit word roughly translating to "knowledge." Family and close friends know him by Iana to this day.Divorce eventually led to Kathy's return and Iana's arrival to U.S. soil by around his third birthday. He was raised mostly on the Hawaiian island of Oahu before spending his high school years in San Diego at La Jolla High School, where he was friends, cast-mates and teammates with future Rilo Kiley founding members Blake Soper (A.K.A. Blake Sennet) and Pierre de Reeder.Iana spent 2 years at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts as a Film & Television undergrad, later transferring to San Francisco State University and eventually Brooklyn College. Culinary and hospitality instincts paid the bills during and after college, until two former NYU dorm-mates recruited him to join the opening staff of Kozmo.com in 1997, as chronicled in Wonsuk Chin's documentary feature film E-Dreams (2001).Post-dot-com boom and bust, Iana spent time living in Copenhagen and again in Hawaii, where his professional acting career began when Anita Allison cast him in her independent short film Agent Orange (2005), a Bush era satire that traveled the small but ideally located Hawaii film festival circuit.Since 2011, Thoeger Hansen has been acting professionally in television, independent film, and theater in the New York City area. In December 2015 he was signed for commercial representation by Jillian Hassett at 'Prestige Management Group [us]'.(2016) Thoeger resides in East Harlem, New York City, with a cat from Brooklyn.
