Tara Miele

Tara Miele recently wrote and directed an independent psychological thriller, Thinspiration, starring Laura Slade Wiggins (Shameless) and Callie Thorne (Necessary Roughness). The film, which tackles the taboo subject of eating disorders in a startling new way, aired on Lifetime in April of 2014. Currently, Tara is in pre-production on The Lost Boy, a psychological drama starring Virginia Madsen.As a writer, Tara has set up projects at Lionsgate, Screengems, New Line, Gold Circle Films, and Disney Channel, and is currently attached to direct an adaptation of the New York Times Bestseller, "A Long Fatal Love Chase" from renowned author Louisa May Alcott as a six part limited series for MarVista Entertainment.Tara's award-winning films have screened around the world, most notably at Slamdance and SXSW. Her first feature, The Lake Effect, which she wrote and directed while 7 months pregnant, won top honors at Moondance and Phoenix Film Festival and eared her a spot on Raindance Film Festival's "Top Ten American Indie Directors to Watch."A graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, California, Tara resides in Los Angeles with her talented husband and two amazing daughters.
