Stu (Stuart to his mother) Cookson was born in New Jersey to Dale Cookson, a Coast Guardsman and Susan Cookson (ne'e Stuart) in Cape May, New Jersey in October, 1989. His family soon moved to Mobile, Alabama where his parents divorced in 1991 and he grew up. After Graduating from Mary G. Montgomery High School in 2008, Stu spent the next few years in and out of college. Stu joined the Alabama Army National Guard as a medic in 2007 and was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq from 2009-2010 and Kabul, Afghanistan from 2011-2012. Soon after returning, he took odd jobs as a telephone operator, toy store sales person and strip club DJ.Using the time and incidents from his various jobs, he started doing stand-up in Mobile, AL in 2013. This is also the time he bean acting, getting cast as a henchman in the David A. Prior directed Deadliest Prey, which was filmed in Mobile. Later in the year he helped the NBC/Sony Television Productions series The Night Shift as a military consultant, bringing his experiences as an Army combat medic to the military inspired medical drama.Stu now resides in Auburn, AL where he performs comedy regularly and is actively auditioning for more film and TV roles.
