Samuel K. Dolan is a writer, director, and Emmy Award winning producer. Dolan began his career on horseback at age 13, on feature films such as "Tombstone" and "Maverick" in 1993. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Dolan had a number of other film and television roles, while also working in production as a weapons handler, horse wrangler and double. Dolan started working in documentary television in 1998.In 2008 he received a News and Documentary Emmy as one of the producers of "A Distant Shore: African Americans of D-Day", a History Channel special that highlighted the role of African American soldiers in the Normandy Invasion.Dolan has written and produced episodes of the History Channel programs "Battle 360", "Patton 360", "The Universe", "Life After People" and 3Net's three-part military series "Live Fire". He also served as Producer on History Channel's 2011 "History of the World in Two Hours", a 3-D special written and directed by Flight 33 Executive Producer Douglas Cohen.In 2010 Dolan developed a concept for a "docu-reality" series about the Navajo Nation Police in Arizona and New Mexico. Later that year he wrote and produced the pilot episode of "Navajo Cops" for the National Geographic Channel. In the summer of 2011, National Geographic ordered six more episodes of "Navajo Cops". Dolan served as Senior Producer and Director on all six episodes and wrote three of hour-long shows. The series was produced by Flight 33 Productions in the summer and fall of 2011 and in the winter of 2012. The first of the six episodes premiered on March 12, 2012 on National Geographic Channel. In 2013, Dolan served as a writer, director and Senior Producer on the Military Channel's "Warrior POV" and was a writer and Senior Producer on H2's "Big History", a 16-part series narrated by Brian Cranston.Between 2006 and 2015, Dolan served as a staff Senior Producer, writer, director and military adviser with Flight 33 Productions. More recently, Dolan has served as a Supervising Producer with Warm Springs Productions. Dolan's first non-fiction book, "Cowboys and Gangsters: Stories of an Untamed Southwest", which covers the Prohibition-era of 1920s and 1930s Arizona, Texas and New Mexico, was published by TwoDot Books in the spring of 2016.
