Character actor, writer, producer with a lengthy theatrical background in musicals and comedies. Roger graduated from West Virginia University and appeared in many roles while there, including the title role in Charley's Aunt, Jeff in Brigadoon, Ali Hakim in Oklahoma, and Cassius in Julius Caesar.He studied for his Masters in Drama at Southern Illinois University, playing the role of Sakini in Teahouse of the August Moon. Roger also attended the University of Colorado and starred as Jean in Rhinoceros and Bob in Irma La Deuce. He completed his Masters in Drama at the University of Arizona, appearing in a number of plays there as well.Roger was News Director or a Newscaster at several major radio stations, including KIKX and KTKT in Tucson; KIMN in Denver; KRLA & KSRF in Los Angeles. He toured in the Woody Allen role in "Play It Again, Sam" and as Nathan Detroit in "Guys And Dolls." He played the lead role of Sidney in the West Coast premiere of The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window. Much later, he won the a Dramalogue Award for playing Milt in Laughter on the 23rd Floor.Roger starred in the syndicated children's TV series, playing the title role in Teego, The Star Traveler; co-starred with Andrew Stevens and Marianne Black in What If; and was one of the three leads in the ABC O & O TV children's series, IT!. (He also received a local Los Angeles Emmy award for his contribution as one of the writers.) Movie-wise, he co-starred with Virginia Mayo in Fugitive Lovers and had a small role in Frances with Jessica Lange.Roger also created and produced a series of national country music TV specials featuring such performers as Barbara Mandrell, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Jr.,Conway Twitty,Tammy Wynette, Brenda Lee, Tom T. Hall, and many more. He wrote the Legends of the West (1992) specials with Jack Palance, winning a Wrangler Award for writing from the Cowboy Hall of Fame in the process. He also wrote and produced the Disney TV special, Falling for the Stars with Richard Farnsworth, Robert Duvall, Buddy Ebsen and Robert Conrad. Roger was the sole writer and one of the producers for the multi-million dollar 90 minute TV special, United We Stand in 1988 with Bob Hope, Gloria Estefan, Julio Iglesias, Sheena Easton, Loretta Swit, Rich Little, Miriam Makeba, Sylvie Vartan, Brooke Shields, and many more. He also helped produce a Bob Hope trip to Korea's DMZ in 1988.Roger became the National Entertainment Reporter with Westwood One in 1999, covering the Oscars, Grammys, Emmys and hosting a nationally syndicated weekly entertainment radio show.
