Richard is an only child from Bee Spring, KY. After finishing high school, he entered college and had no idea what he really wanted to do. After a couple of years working multiple jobs and attempting more hours at Western Kentucky University (WKU), he decided to join the Army. He was a military policeman and stayed on active duty for a little over 5 years. Richard attended Air Assault School, Airborne School, Special Reaction Team, and completed the Special Forces Assessment and Selection course at Camp Mackall, Ft. Bragg, NC. After transitioning out of the military, he went back to WKU with laser-like focus. Richard graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Chemistry and Math. He completed an M.S. in Engineering Technology Management at WKU and wrote a thesis titled "The Effects of Goal Setting in a Developmental Algebra Course." Richard earned an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership at WKU in August, 2017. His dissertation is titled "Overcoming failure - Characteristics of leaders who have successfully recovered from a significant setback." He learned so much about how people react to failure and how resilience manifests through coping and adaptational mechanisms. Richard has 17 years in the workforce where he has been employed primarily in industrial jobs as a quality engineer and quality manager. He taught developmental algebra at WKU for six years and was a business owner for eight years. It has been a setting of struggle, leadership, perseverance, and creativity. Richard began taking acting classes in 2014 and attended numerous workshops. He was cast as the lead male role for Soldier's Joy in 2016. Richard is extremely grateful for multiple opportunities in film and his roles in several TV Series. Show less «
