Ray in the late 70s couldn't be further from an acting career , joining the Royal Navy in 1977 and qualifying as a special forces Clearance Diver , he served in both Northern Ireland and the Falklands war , where he was part of an elite team of deep saturation divers to recover top secret and sensitive information from the recently sunken destroyer HMS Coventry . He then left for the oil and gas industry of Aberdeen and was soon an efficient part of the deep diving saturation team on the north sea vessel Stadive . Ray decided to leave the oil industry and immigrate to Australia , where he had spent his childhood from 5 to 12 years of age growing up , and found the love of the ocean. After the death of his mother , he went in search of life's answers to its meaning and found himself at the Brisbane school of philosophy , where to his satisfaction he found the answers and became a tutor, the school ethos was you are only limited by your ideas of who you think you are , and with that in mind , Ray tentatively volunteered for a Shakespeare production of "loves labor's lost " playing Costard , and Bottom in " A Midsummer Nights Dream " plus other stage plays Eventually finding himself in front of a camera as the lead in Qpix production of " Through Different Eyes " which went on to screen at the New York Independent Film Festival He is proud to have been principle cast in feature films "Ryder Country" , "Sleeper " "Sharkmen " and has recently been asked to feature in the 1840s feature film " Famine" He has starred and been involved with over 50 short films , music videos , feature films, television commercials , presentations ,and interviews A dedicated hardworking, nice guy who mainly plays his alter ego.
