He was signed up as actor under contract consecutively by all four of the Arts councils. He did his first film and television work after arriving in Johannesburg in 1980 : with Manie van Rensburg Dir. in "The Fourth Reich" and "Taxi to Soweto". Then followed "Dark City", "Laser Mission" (with Brandon Lee and Ernest Borgnine), "Nag van die 19de", "Vyfster 1 & 2" (with Regardt van den Bergh Dir.) and Leon Schuster Dir. in "You must be Joking" and "There's a Zulu on my stoep". Television roles as leading actor in the series "Manakwalanners", "Paradys", "Samaritaan", "Gazette", "Vyfster 1 & 2", "Die Jare Daarna", "Town Guard", "Huisjakker", "Sagmoedige Neelsie".Awards include 1976 : Piers Nicholson Award best contribution as actor, 1994 : Artes Award, Best Supporting Male Actor for "Manakwalanners", 1998 : Pendoring Award for Best Actor National RadioHe continued to work on stage at the Market Theatre, for Pieter Toerien, the Arts Councils and Industrial theatre.
