Peter Crosman is a Visual Effects Designer and Second Unit Director whose feature film credits include a diverse range of genres such as the Beatles-scored musical extravaganza Across The Universe, fantasy comedies Scooby Doo (I&II) and Flubber, dramatic narratives Horse Whisperer, Idlewild, and sci-fi thrillers Independence Day, Broken Arrow and Tank Girl.He has collaborated with acclaimed directors Robert Redford, Lawrence Kasden, Nick Cassavetes, Julie Taymor, John Woo, Henry Selick, and Roland Emmerich, as well as Tank Girl comic strip creator Jamie Hewlett (aka : the creative force behind the Gorillaz).Crosman began his career in visual effects as an animator at Industrial Light & Magic, working on the Back to the Future, Star Trek and Indiana Jones feature series. He spent his early freelance career supervising and directing title sequences, commercials, pop promos, TV IDs and stings. His independent animation work includes a CLIO award winning series of MTV IDs with Henry Selick, and a series of commercial spots for director Jake Scott, featuring RCA's canine mascots in outer space.He wrote and directed a concise history of the evolution of the horse, that concluded a continuous 28 year run in the Smithsonian Institution's Museum of Natural History in Washington DC in 2015.
