Paul Strathman was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa and raised in nearby Pocahontas. He is the youngest of six children to Annette (Keane) and Eugene Strathman. His father was a third generation photographer and his mother, a nurse then homemaker. Not the athletic type nor academically strong, Paul felt out of place that is, until he discovered his quirky talent for making people laugh. At the age of 15, with one of his first jobs being that of a theater projectionist, he fell in love with the movies. Friday night movies in this sleepy little town is where Paul imagined the world out there. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in 1981, Paul literally headed west to build a career in finance. Fascinated by the film production process, in his spare time he became involved in small budget films and local commercials. On a whim, Paul attended a large casting call for extras where he was selected to portray a businessman in the film Up In The Air (2009). Bit by the bug, Paul hasn't looked back, appearing in films including Love Stalker (2011), Casualties of The State (2012) and Are You There God, It's Me Margaret (2020) Show less «

I was very insecure as a child with a huge fear of failure. I didn't have the courage to ride a bike until I was in the 6th grade.

Two years after my mother died, I took my 81 year old father for a 10 day road trip out west to the national parks. After driving the first 10 minutes, we turned off the car radio and never turned it on again. For 10 days we talked. I learned so much about him and the sacrifices he made in his life. Show less «
