Born in the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx, New York and later raised in Closter, New Jersey, Paul LaGreca's life and career has been eclectic and different. He started his career as a tap dancer at the early age of 9 years old and later continued with ballet and jazz. His joy in his early years was rushing home from school so he could get to the Academy of the Dance. He had the entire Wizard of Oz memorized line by line by the time he was five and as a child wrote daily letters to the studio heads of M-G-M, Universal and Columbia to fly him out to Hollywood to please "try him".Upon completing high-school, he was awarded a Best Actor scholarship and used it to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Spotted by a faculty member who was casting a play, Paul was asked to play the role of Billy Ray, Jr. in a touring production of "On Golden Pond" and received his Actors Equity card. He was accidentally submitted for a gum commercial as a SAG actor and booked the job. When the producers discovered that he was not a SAG member, they still wanted him and made him join SAG that same afternoon. At the age of 18, he was on his way, signing with the reputable Shirley Grant of Shirley Grant Management in New York. His career began to blossom in television and film. Paul was fortunate to work with some of the industry's best, including the late John Cassavetes, and Sidney Lumet. His career shifted dramatically in 1985 when he met Mother Teresa (of Calcutta) who invited him to come and see her life. He left Hollywood and returned to New York where he entered the seminary of the Missionaries of Charity. He has worked with the poorest of the poor in the slums of New York, Haiti, Rome and Washington DC but decided after a time to "return to the world". He did not return to Hollywood right away, but continued the education he began while in seminary.Paul successfully completed his B.A. in Philosophy at Saint Thomas Aquinas College in New York (where he graduated as Valedictorian), and later his M.A. in Theology at Seton Hall University (Summa Cum Laude). He was offered a position at a reputable Wall Street investment bank and embarked on a career in Human Resources. Now after almost 20 years, Paul has returned to Los Angeles to continue with his passion - acting. He is still associated with charitable works and supports, "La Goccia Onlus", an Italian relief organization that supports the poor in Congo, Peru and Zambia.Paul returned to his acting career in January of 2014, and has enjoyed much success - from roles in web series and films to plays. He lives by the philosophy that a dream was not put into your heart without the power to make it come true and lives within the limitless possibilities that each day holds. Show less «
