Pascal Lamorisse was born 1950, in Paris, France. He is an actor and film-restorer. Pascal appeared as the boy chasing a red balloon through the streets and alleys of Ménilmontant, the 20th arrondissement (borough) of Paris, in the world famous short film Le ballon rouge (1956). Directed by his father, Albert Lamorisse (1922-1970), and acting against one of his sisters, Sabine Lamorisse, the little girl with the blue balloon. Pascal has described the participation in the 34 minutes film as pure magic. Le ballon rouge (1956) received the short film award in Cannes and an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Pascal Lamorisse appeared in two more of his fathers productions. His father, Albert, was killed in a helicopter crash while shooting a documentary near Teheran in 1970. After this tragedy, Pascal decided to devote his life to his father's mission. He assumed his father's film company, Films Montsouris, and began the long process of restoration the films.
