Omar Torres is an actor, musician and radio personality in New York City. He was born and raised in Rockland County NY, 20 minutes north of Manhattan to Nancy Torres (from the Bronx) and Omar Torres (from Brooklyn). He is of Puerto Rican and Cuban descent.Omar has been cast in Daredevil(Netflix), Blue Bloods(CBS), Sneaky Pete(Amazon) and his last film "PLOY" won numerous awards in multiple film festivals. "PLOY" was also part of the Cannes Film Festival 'Short Film Corner' in 2016.Omar Torres graduated from North Rockland High School and went on to study at Rockland Community College and The Institute Of Audio Research in New York City for Audio Engineering.From an early age, Ice Hockey, music and films were something that Omar was passionate about. He began skating at age four and eventually went on to spend several years bouncing around in the minor league ice hockey circuit (USA/Europe). His first pro camp was with the NHL's Edmonton Oilers minor league affiliate, The Odessa Jackalopes of the Central Hockey League (CHL) in 2006.At age 11 his parents bought him his first musical instrument. A drum set. After moving into an apartment, he switched over to learning guitar and singing. Since age 14 he has been in and out rock bands, playing live, writing and recording music.After making the tough career choice to leave the game of hockey behind, Omar began studying the craft of acting at various studios in New York City and working at CBS radio with the promotions team in 2009. After several years behind the scenes and managerial changes, he was given the green light to be on air and can now be heard through out the Tri-State(NY, NJ, CT) on New York's New 92.3 AMP Radio.
