Omar Koury is a classically trained actor who works in professional theatres across the United States and around the world, as well as having appeared on numerous television and film productions.His body of work ranges from 30 straight performances as The Turkish Guy on The Late Show with David Letterman to performing in the world premiere, Drama League nominated theatre production of Aftermath at the prestigious New York Theatre Workshop.The world tour of Aftermath gave Mr. Koury the opportunity to perform at The Old Vic in London, Town Hall Theatre in Galway, Ireland and the Perth and Melbourne Art Festivals in Australia. His other favorite stage roles include his work in the Barrymore Award winning US premiere of Scorched at the Wilma Theater in Philadelphia and his performance in the co-production of The Kite Runner at Cleveland Playhouse and Actors Theater of Louisville. Mr. Koury's television and film work include roles on NBC's The Blacklist, HBO's Lights Out, ABC's The Unusuals, Jesus' Son and The Devil's Advocate.In 2001, Mr. Koury co-founded Nibras, the first Arab American theater company in the United States. Nibras' groundbreaking production of Sajjil:Record won Best Ensemble at the 2003 New York International Fringe Festival. Nibras' work has been chronicled in Salaam.Peace. An Anthology of Middle Eastern Drama.When he isn't writing his screenplay about the curious world of the auto show industry, auditioning or rehearsing a staged reading of a new play, Mr. Koury enjoys yoga, section hiking the Appalachian Trail, running half marathons and playing guitar.
