Niki's father is of Spanish, Korean, Filipino ancestry. Her mother had lived in Brunei before moving to Canada and is of Chinese, Japanese, Baba-Nyonya (Peranakan) descent.
Niki believes all of us need a hand at one time or another so she lends her support to many charitable organizations like food banks and soup kitchens and fund raises for building homes for those who are unable to find housing.
