At the age of 16, Natalie Ogle, a pupil at the Redroofs Theatre School, was selected by Tony Richardson on account of her youth and freshness to play Fanny, the sweetheart of Peter Firth in the costume film 'Joseph Andrews'. Indeed the majority of her roles thereafter tended to be in period pieces, notably as a resilient Little Nell in 'The Old Curiosity Shop' on TV and further roles in 'Pride and Prejudice' and 'David Copperfield', though she did co-star with Julia Watson in a contemporary sitcom 'A Touch of Spice', about two girls running a catering business. Since the turn of the twenty-first century she has turned to teaching drama, in various schools, and as a staff member at the Fusion Academy of Performing Arts in Surbiton, Surrey, along with Lucinda, her daughter by her husband, actor Clive Francis.
