Michael Landsberg is a Canadian sports television personality, and one of the better-known personalities in Canadian broadcasting. He has been described as a cross between Bill Maher and Bob Costas. Landsberg started his national career as an anchor on SportsDesk (now known as SportsCentre) on TSN in 1984 and went on to broadcast more than 5,000 episodes, becoming one of Canada's most trusted sports voices along the way. He left SportsDesk in the fall of 1997 to host TSN's Off The Record.Landsberg devotes a great deal of time to one of the dozens of charity events he hosts every year. In just two years, Landsberg raised more than $200,000 at his golf tournament for Sick Children's Hospital in Toronto. In 2001, Landsberg was named "Man of the Year" by the Canadian Friends of Hebrew University, in recognition of his continuing contributions to the community.Described as a bona fide health nut, Landsberg works out in the gym four times a week and enjoys skiing, sailing and coaching his son's roller hockey team. The only weakness he readily admits is his craving for Duff's chicken wings and blue cheese dressing.Landsberg lives in the Greater Toronto Area with his wife Karen, 16-year-old son Corey, 14-year-old daughter Casey and eight-year-old Bichon Frise Whistler, named after the mountain in British Columbia.
