Mary Louise (ML) was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. She trained with The Lee Strasberg Institute and with Stella Adler in her invitation only Master Class. In 1984 she was selected to participate in the inaugural year of the Vassar Powerhouse Theatre Program in conjunction with The Double Image Theatre Company, working with the preeminent talent in American theatre: Max Mayer, Mary McDonnell, Randel Mell, John Patrick Shanley, Jon Robin Baitz, Richard Nelson and Mark Linn-Baker. Her notable performances include: Ondine with Erica Gimpel and Gerald Chapman's epic production of Spring Awakening, where she played Frau Gabor opposite of David Strathairn. While at Vassar she was invited to join The New York Stage and Film Company and performed Off-Broadway in Richard Nelson's The Return of Pinocchio, directed by Max Mayer (production included: Rob Morrow, Jayne Atkinson, Joe Urla, Dan Moran and Marylouise Burke). Soon after she was recruited to California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) by Libby Appel, where she was offered a full talent scholarship and was one of a handful students in the school's history to be offered her BA/MFA in three years. Her portrayal as Georgia O'Keeffe, in the West Coast Premiere of Alfred Stieglitz Loves O'Keeffe at CCRT, opposite of the late Robert Symonds, as well as for her performance as Anna in New Mexico Repertory's production of Burn This was praised by critics. She has performed in hundreds of theatrical productions from Off-Broadway, to regional theatre in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle and everywhere in-between. Her voice-over career began in the early 80's when she was asked to record a regional voice-over spot for a New York real estate agent. Since then she has looped productions in North America and Europe and voiced hundreds of media productions spanning from: films, video games, animation, commercials, audio books, art installments and the daily Dow Jones for Charles Schwab. A gift for dialects, her Anne Sulivan's Irish/Bostonian, in Nest Entertainment's Helen Keller with Elizabeth Daily, earned multiple awards and endorsements. She lived in Hamburg, Germany for four years working professionally as an actress and writer. Her passion for acting is quickly followed by her love for writing. Inspired by her first writing mentors Jon Robin Baitz and John Patrick Shanley who encouraged her to launch her first play at Vassar's Matthew's Mug. Later she went on to ghost write several feature films and one television pilot for producers in Los Angeles and Berlin. She is a produced writer with writing credits that include staff writer and story editor for SAT1's prime time drama television series, an independent faith-based baseball movie and three video games. She has been under development with Monsterfoot Productions and Disney. In April 2016 her faith-based script Good Grief was optioned by Intrigue Films scheduled for pre-production late 2016. She has written numerous Young Adult properties including Sci-Fi High (Science Fiction), Little Sumos (Fantasy), Sponge (Paranormal), The Remnant (Science Fiction) and looks forward to one day seeing them produced. She runs ProADR Looping (the only loop group with CSA voice casting credential) with CalArts Alumni, friend and business partner, Bernie Van De Yacht (CSA: Artios and Golden Reel nominee). Aside from working on the soundstage and writing, her interests include: spending time with her family, producing independent films, golfing and fishing. She has two novels scheduled for completion in 2017. She divides her time between Los Angeles and the Pacific Northwest. Show less «
