Mark-Eugene was born in Arcadia, CA and grew up in Covina, CA. Growing up playing Flute, Tenor Saxophone and Base Clarinet, he was well versed in music. As a teenager he began to study drama and eventually musical theatre. Deciding to focus less on performance and more on writing, Mark-Eugene began to study playwriting and musical theatre writing. The journey led him to New York City where he would once again fall into acting. As of 2016, he balances theatre writing and film performance on both coasts.Mark's film roles include Bliss (Daniel), Nocturnal Fury (Charlie), and Aleksandr's Price (Michael) He can also be seen on the web series The Message Board (Cubby) That Reminds Me and Pioneer One (Dr. Richard C. Hadfield)He is a graduate of the City College of New York and also studied book and lyric writing with the Academy of New Musical Theatre in Los Angeles. His musicals include Standby (New York International Fringe Festival- Encores Selection, New York Musical Theatre Festival, Next Link Selection, Gallery Players Overtures Series), The Holy Cows of Credence, South Dakota (PCTF- Outstanding Book of a new Musical and/or Play with Music- Nominee), Facing East: A New Musical (Broadwayworld.com Chicago Special Event- Nominee), and What Friends Are For (NYPL Across a Crowded Room- Lincoln Center) and The Journey His plays include (un)missed connections (Jacob Weiser Playwriting Award for a Fully Realized Drama, The Stark Award in Drama in Memory of Ross Alexander- honorable mention). His works have been presented in The New York International Fringe Festival, The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, New York Public Library Lincoln Center, The Puzzle: Marble's Festival of New Works, ANMT's Festival of New Musicals, Untucked: LBGT One Act festival, LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, Disney's Hyperion Theatre, and The Colony Theatre Burbank.
