Maria Felipe is a Cuban-American born in Miami; she stands 5' 9" with a personality to match.Maria Felipe's dream has always been to become a successful actress and television personality and since Maria began pursuing these dreams they have come to life. Recently, Maria made history when she was hired as the First Latin Women Boxing Announcer and interviewer for Champions of boxing which was streamed live from Las Vegas every week over the internet. She announced the fights in both English and Spanish.In 2004 while commuting from Las Vegas to Miami while shooting her boxing show, she landed two National commercials as principle. And shot an independent film titled Street Survival playing the part of Yoly Mendez. She also has a principal part in a pilot Sitcom Cuando La Raza Arrasa.In 2003 Maria hosted along with Al Bernstein Miami Fight Night a series of fights that were taped live at the American Airlines Arena Miami. She interviewed the Golden Boy himself Oscar De La Hoya.Maria's big break in television was in 1998 when she was chosen out of over 300 girls to host a national popular weekly wrestling show Los Super Astros produced by the World Wrestling Federation and aired on Univision.Her position as host for WWF's Los Super Astros was proceeded by her hosting three other shows which aired on Telemundo Network: Juegos Nucturnos a dating game and De Noche a musical show which was filmed in Las Vegas and were Maria presented musical artists such as internationally known singer Ricky Martin. She also served as Miami reporter for Hollywood DF, an entertainment show where Maria had the opportunity to interview singer and songwriter Shakira and famous imitator Julio Sabala.Maria has also appeared in many successful television commercials both nationally and internationally. Commercials include Denny's, Pizza-Hut and Chillis Restaurants. First Union, Sears, Lactaid, MCI, Title Loans, Coca-Cola, Mosto Fruit Juice, Lipton, Bellsouth, Kmart and Home Depot.Yet Maria's calling for television began 5 years earlier, at age 17 being chosen one of the 10 finalists out of 10,000 entrants in YM magazines cover girl contest. She was flown to New York, met supermodels Nikki Taylor and Tyra Banks and was featured in YM's 1994 September issue, wow talk about a chance of a life time, at such a young age. As a model Maria has appeared in Cosmopolitan Magazine, Vanidades, Hispanic Business, Ocean Drive, YM, Latina, Cristina and People En Espanol.Maria's success in modeling and her larger than life persona quickly earned her recognition in the TV, Film and Music Video Industry. Appearing in Sabado Gigante, Lente Loco, Cristina Show, Primer Impacto, Republica Deportiva, and Entertainment Tonight. Maria also had the honor of working with Emilio Estefan while shooting Jon Secada video 'Too Late Too Soon.'Maria has also been a part of the film world, in 1996 wanting to experience how a film is made she decided to go ahead and be an extra in the movie The Pest and a good decision she made because she was spotted right away by actor Jon Leguizamo and he chose her to appear in the movie.
