An International actress fluent in different languages, Maria de Lima's exciting and versatile career spans stage, screen and television.Maria's first stage role ever was Duchess Olga Katrina in the Holland Hall High School production of 'You can't Take It With You' by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman in Tulsa, US.She went on to further her studies in acting, moving to London, where she completed the two years acting course at The Academy Drama School and the Post-Grad course in acting at Drama Studio London. Later, Maria returned to the US, to Los Angeles, to study screen acting with Eric Stephan Kline at Tony Barr's Film Actors Workshop.Maria de Lima started her working career in Portugal. In 1993 she was nominated for Best TV Actress ('SE7E' Awards) for her work in the TV Series 'O Quadro Roubado' and in the comedy show 'Grande Noite'. The 'Galp' Commercial featuring Maria de Lima playing an eccentric bimbo gets the 'RTC' Award for Best Commercial of the Year.In 1995 Maria de Lima wins the award for Best Comedy Stage Actress ('A Capital' Awards). On the same year the comedy show 'Grande Noite' and the hugely successful Portuguese version of the British sitcom 'Yes, Minister: A Mulher do Sr. Ministro', where she plays the petulant and futile Prime Minister's secretary, 'Tita', are both nominated for Best TV Show ('Golden Globes' Awards, Portugal.)In 1996 Maria moved back to London and later to Los Angeles.
