Luca Merli

Director, art director, producer, cinematographer, filmmaker and photographer, founder of BLOCK10, has directed short film, documentaries, web content, commercials and music videos for national and international clients. Begins as a photographer in the early 90s, and he is noticed for several exhibitions since 1996 (Photographer's Gallery London, Hayward Gallery London, South Bank Center London), when he also starts directing. From 1998 on, he directed several international advertising campaigns and music videos. Luca has been awarded with some important national and international advertising awards. Nowadays he works both as director and photographer and for the Italian and international market. In 2002 he founded Block10 with the intent of doing independent films. Block10 produces surf movies, fashion stories and shorts but also TV programs, Music Videos, documentary and experimental flicks. Block10 has been producing several movies and the internationally acclaimed surf movie "Onde Nostre", the web series "Ritratti di Surf" and "Peninsula" awarded Best Feature at San Diego Surf Film festival 2015, Best Documentary at North / Nordost Surf Film Festival in Berlin 2015, Best Documentary and Best Soundtrack at Mimpi Skate and Surf Film Festival in Rio De Janeiro 2015 and also Best Cinematography at SAL Surf at Lisbon in 2014.
