Kaiulani was born in New York City to Broadway award winning actress, Kaiulani Lee, and concert pianist, turned environmental lawyer, Andrew Kimbrell. Her grandmother was beloved NYC acting teacher, Marketa Kimbrell who studied intimately with Lee Strasberg and had a powerful impact in training some of Hollywood's most esteemed film directors and producers today. Kaiulani has always been drawn to artistic mediums. She performed in her first musical at the age of 4 and continued her extensive training as a dancer, singer and actress with a special love for Broadway and old movie musicals. By High School Kaiulani was performing in 2-3 musicals a year, dancing as as semi professional ballet dancer with the Center Dance Company and was selected to attend the prestigious Broadway Theatre Project with Ann Reinking. In 1998 she enrolled at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Shortly after, she began writing and recording original songs and moved to Los Angeles where she has worked with some of the top vocal, acting and performance teachers in the country and world. In 2007, after touring the Los Angeles club circuit with her keyboard, she recorded and released her debut album of original songs titled "Break Open", and was an artist in development with Grammy award winning producer Tal Herzberg (A&M / Geffen). She has worked in the music department at New Line Cinema and Warner Bros on a myriad of films including: Sex And The City, The Women, Seventeen Again and My Sister's Keeper. In 2010, with an ever growing desire to unveil truth through real life stories, she went back to school and received a Bachelors of Science degree in Visual Journalism and launched her own documentary media production company: "A New Awareness Media". She has shot extensive footage for the food movement and environmental causes. In 2015, she launched her co-creation "Hollywood Food Guild" and the video series "Food Voices" that works with influencers in the entertainment industry, passionate about using their voices effectively for the food / environmental movement."The arts and conscious media creation have a powerful role in cultivating a new awarenesses that supports and nurtures more meaningful and connected lives.
