Julie Mahendran is a seasoned performer on music stages and in recent years has begun acting in film and television as well. She was born in Montreal and raised in Edmonton before receiving a substantial scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where her teachers included Cheryl Bentyne of the Manhattan Transfer. While a student there, she performed for such jazz and popular music luminaries as Herb Alpert, Patti Austin and Benny Golson.Since Berklee, Julie has released 2 full-length recordings to worldwide acclaim and radio airplay as a soul-jazz artist, with performances across Canada, in Europe and in Asia. Julie is also a freelance vocalist/keyboardist and performs regularly throughout North America with the concert series Classic Albums Live. She studies acting in Toronto. Show less «
