Born in Pictou, Nova Scotia, Joshua's first acting gig was in children's theatre at the local Decoste Theatre. In his teen years he landed his first big role as a Principle character in the CBS Movie of the Week, "Bluemoon". During his early successes he moved behind the camera and also began writing.
