Playwright, essayist, novelist, short story writer, television scriptwriter and teacher Jorge Núñez was born on January 5th, 1939 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He credits his training to teachers as Mirta Arlt, Carlos Gorostiza and Raul Serrano. In 1975, as student, won a mention in the "Premio Gonzalez Cadavig", of the Teatro Municipal San Martín of Buenos Aires, with the work "La Orden Viene de Arriba"; premiered in 1997 at the "Andamio 90" theatre with a cast of 26 actors. The play "El Sombrero de Tres Picos" adapted by Núñez and directed by Néstor Romero, was released in 1979; three years later, in 1981 he premiered a piece considered a classic of the Argentine Theatre, "Lo que Mata es la Humedad", directed by Carlos Gandolfo and a cast headed by Dora Baret, Adrián Ghio and sixteen other actors. It was re-released in 2011 in the "Teatro Nacional Cervantes", directed by Alberto Catan, headlining the cast Juan Palomino and Adriana Salonia. Some of his works premiered at Theatre were "Qué difícil es decir Adiós" and "La Lucha es Cruel y es Mucha" among others. The 19 released works of Jorge Núñez occurred with greater continuity from 1996 in Argentina, Mexico and the U.S. (New York). In 1982 he began to work in Argentinean television. In Canal 13 he participated in the cycle "Compromiso", "Mi amigo Martín", "Así son los Míos" and adapted "Mundo de Muñeca". In 1995, in Buenos Aires, the "Club de Autores" is founded on the initiative of writers such as Néstor Sabatini, Beatriz Mosquera, Peñarol Méndez, Jorge Drago, Edda Díaz and Jorge Núñez was appointed President, a position he held until 1999.
