Johnny Tran

Born Dong Van Tran in Saigon, Vietnam on October 08. At the age of 14, alone on a crowded boat, he crossed the ocean and immigrated to New York. Johnny went to New Town High School to learn English. He wanted to become a lawyer, a director and an artist. The language was hard and learning was slow; nevertheless, he gave up all his dreams that he had to work to support himself, and managed to survive in the city that never sleeps. He originally aspired to become an actor but he didn't know where to start. In 1996, Johnny cut his teeth in this film "Arresting Gena" produced by Good Machine. This film opened new doors for him. He went on to study acting at H.B. Studio and American Dramatic of Art in NYC. He's had fortune of appearing in many films and plays, and on television. Johnny speaks fluent English, Vietnamese and Chinese. Show less «
