John Scott Manison is an Actor who recently (2014) completed a stint in the production of "Rent" with a traveling Broadway show group. He has also appeared in the television series, "Mistresses" and just recently (2014) joined Screen Actors System (SAS) and is about to begin production on a feature film. His past works include: a national commercial, and a Biography Channel Documentary. He has also branched out in the last few years, completing multiple motivational speaking engagements and hosting a musical review. Shortly after being born in Cincinnati, Ohio, John and his family moved to a small town in Northwester Pennsylvania. There John's only sister was born. His family moved to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil where he picked up bits and pieces of Portuguese while attending a Brazilian Pre-School. Shortly before he turned six, John moved back to Northwestern Pennsylvania where he finished High School. He ran cross country until a rare disease(Transverse Myelitis) left him a paraplegic at the beginning of his sophomore year. Forced to find a new sport, John fell in love with competitive swimming during his senior year where he qualified, from the wheelchair, for his district swim meet, thanks in part to his fellow teammates. His passion for swimming and his determination to walk again, paved the way to earning him the Erie Times News Inspirational Athlete of the Year Award, as well as the Sisters of Saint Joseph Spirit of Courage Award. John Graduated in June of 2012 by walking across the stage unassisted and continues to walk today. He was voted best public speaker of his class and is an Eagle Scout.
