John Andrew Vaas began his focus on acting in 2005 after being cast as a recurring performer on X-Men III, Killer Instinct and Masters of Horror in addition to several other film and television programs. Involved in theatre since grade school and enjoying the rewarding challenge of the on-camera work, John Andrew enrolled as a student of the Stanislavsky System of Acting headed by former National Theatre of Bulgaria Director Assen Gadjalov - at the Methodica Acting Studio in Vancouver, BC. John Andrew continued his study in Los Angeles at the Andrew Wood Acting Academy of a contemporary system that is taught at Yale University, as well as, with Stella Adler's previous assistant Ron Burrus at the Art of Acting Studio in Hollywood. John Andrew has also studied with Dustin Hoffman via the MasterClass Program and was privileged to have been a member of the cast in the Venice-based Pacific Resident Theatre production of Anton Chekhov's "The Cherry Orchard". Following on, John Andrew landed the title role in Green Room Theatre's contemporary staging of William Shakespeare's "Hamlet".An aficionado of stoic portrayal, John Andrew Vaas is also an accomplished musician with a passion for Arch-top guitars and vacuum tube sound, whose late nights are punctuated with the jingle-jangle of composition and production in between sunny days of film and television projects. Releasing recordings as solo-artist "Johnny 3:16" and with his band "Speeding Motorcycle", while also attending as many Formula 1 races as possible, John Andrew has written a number of screenplays and is working toward a directorial bow in the future.
