JoAnn F. Peterson began acting before she ever went to school. Being the youngest of 4, when her siblings were in school, JoAnn would stand on one side of a door and be one person, then go to the other side of the door to become the other person and continue the conversation. Her first time acting on stage was as Emily in "Our Town" at Fort Ashby (WV) High School. Now a film and theater actor, as well as a singer, JoAnn starred as Astrid in "A Promise to Astrid", played Mother Abbess in "The Sound of Music" at WV Public Theatre and does first person portrayals, which she calls "Amazing Women of History", of Jenny Lind, Margaret "The Unsinkable Molly" Brown, Mary (Todd) Lincoln, Shirley Temple Black, Abigail Adams, and Nellie Bly. She has performed at the US Embassy in Prague, at Cooper Union in NYC, at the Pennsylvania Chautauqua and the Victorian Chautauqua in Mt. Lake Park, MD. Show less «
