Jeremey Adam Rey of Haitian and Puerto Rican decent born in Queens Hospital raised in Brooklyn, New York. Son of Elizabeth Rey ( Single mother of three ) Regal Cinemas Employee since the early 2000's. He grew up on the streets of Bed-Stuy in New York City Attending high schools such as Ron Brown Academy/ M.S.57 then getting transferred to JHS 162 in Bushwick New York, to later finish his High School Year at the James Baldwin School of Expeditionary learning. Jeremey never had the intentions of joining a performing arts school because Jeremey didn't realize he had any interest in anything except fighting on the streets of Brooklyn, Until he attended JHS 162 where American Ballroom Theatre Director Pierre Dulaine ( Mad hot Ballroom) ( Take The Lead ) and school Assigned Dance Instructor (Xavier Auza) came to his school and gave all the kids in detention the opportunity that would change their lives forever. From then on Jeremey studied American ballroom/ International Latin dance under the Instruction of Xavier Auza and Pierre Dulaine for many years after, until Xavier Auza suggested to get into other forms of dance such as Ballet, Jazz, Modern, West African and Traditional Haitian dancing etc. With the help of Xavier Jeremey got enrolled in the Rod Rodgers Dance Academy under the direction of Kim Grier. There Jeremey had been exposed to many forms of movement besides dance such as Parkour and Free running, Martial Arts, Wrestling etc. Jeremey then took up a reception position at the studio rental company Pearl Studios in Manhattan New York (mainly catered to the musical theater and arts entertainment) There Jeremey got introduced to the world of musical Theater and a new world of possibilities. Jeremey found himself in the company of world renowned Choreographer and creator Sekou McMiller (Alvin Ailey, Joffrey Ballet, SMc Dance Company) Studying under Sekou McMiller Jeremey was introduced to Afro Latin fused with West African, Urban and Classical Contemporary/abstract theater Movement. Getting into Mambo styles of salsa as New Yorkers call it Salsa on2. Shortly after learning Salsa Jeremey Got introduced to a dance style called Zouk (Originated from the Caribbean countries such as Haiti and Martinique ) Jeremey dove into this style head first knowing it is part of his Haitian Culture and that the movement was one of kind. Finding a familiarity with the movement reaching back to his Ballroom Background of partner work Jeremey was able to succeed very fast in this this new world of Urban Social dancing as well as getting more involved with his Puerto Rican and Haitian side much more. Fast forward To then Attending festivals and Congresses all around the world teaching and performing salsa and and Zouk in countries Such as London England, Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka Japan, Quito Ecuador, Costa Rica, Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto and all over the United states. While traveling the world teaching dance Jeremey always found his way back feeling like there is more to be done. Jeremey wanted to be more involved in the physical side of his other abilities, so decided to get serious about his Parkour and free running alongside martial arts. Learning fight Styles In Boxing, Muay Thai, Capoeira and "Pro Wrestling" (WWF/WWE) Jeremey furthered his learning with becoming one of the Founders for Parkour NYC (Parkour Community training Group in NYC) featured on a bunch of Small NYU Tisch projects and student films with his new abilities Jeremey was getting more and more interested in the Film and Television and wanted to explore that. Jeremey's abilities were gaining quite some traction was her was reached out in 2015 about joining the competition Netflix Show Ultimate Beast Masters ( Sylvester Stallone/ Alan Broome) because of his new abilities. Though Jeremey didn't win the game show it definitely lit a fire for Hollywood for him and after being exposed to all the production (Lights Camera Action) Jeremey Decided this is what he wants to do for the rest of his life. When Jeremey got back into New York he had gotten reached out from Sergio Trujillo Broadway Choreographer ( Jersey Boy's, Memphis, On Your Feet!, Ain't Too Proud and original ensemble member of the Jerome Robbins Broadway ) asking If he would be interested in Joining the Ensemble of the hit Broadway Musical On Your Feet! as a cover for one of there dancers. Without fully understanding what this was about... (and if was real because he had auditioned for them a year ago)..and thought they had forgotten about him. It all happened so fast and next thing you know is Jeremey is rehearsing for a Broadway Musical and two months in the Jerry Mitchell Directed show Jeremey was asked if he wanted to take on the role as the shows Male Swing for all 4 main dancers and 3 Chorus roles as well as 2 character understudies (Kenny Ortega ) ( American DJ) Without hesitation Jeremey Welcomed the challenge and was named the male Swing for the Broadway hit On Your Feet!. Jeremey Ended the show with the show closing in 2017 but then was asked to join the shows first National Tour of On Your Feet which ran for two years ending in 2019 after performing at all the biggest theaters in the United States. While at the end of his run with the On Your Feet Tour Jeremey Took himself to New York City on a week break to Audition for the Summer blockbuster In The heights Directed by Jon. M. Chu with Warner Bros. Pictures. Jeremey returned back to Tour when he got the news a week later that he has been casted as one of the Core Main dancers for the Warner Bros film "In The heights" . So Rights after the tour finished Jeremey rushed back to New York to start training and rehearsing for the block buster film In The Heights. The film wrapped and finished filming in fall of 2019. Jeremey has now relocated to Los Angeles California where he pursues his passion in there arts. Working as a part time Parkour and Free Running Coach at JAM (Joining All Movement) while pursuing his acting Career as his main focus using all of his skills that make him beyond a force to be reckoned with. Jeremey is training with Acting Coach John Homa, Elizabeth Greer and vocal lessons with Michael Layne, Stunt coordinators Travis Wong, Aaron Toney.
