His first television appearance was a BBC adaption of emotionally charged theatre production The Foolish Young Man (2007) starring David Harewood, (Blood Diamond (2006),The Merchant of Venice (2004).It was whilst playing the domestically abusive lead in 'The Boys' (2008)at the National Theatre that he garnered interest.
