Jackie McKinley is one of the UK's leading specialists in the study of human remains, in particular the study of cremated remains and the mortuary rite of cremation, and has published extensively on this subject, including authorship of seminal procedural guidelines dealing with the treatment of human remains throughout the archaeological process. She is a member of the Advisory Panel on the Archaeology of Burials in England (APABE), a founder member of the British Association for Biological Anthropology and Osteoarchaeology (BABAO), acts as visiting lecturer to several UK Universities (Hon. Staff member University of Exeter; Research Fellow University of Cardiff), and has also worked in the associated field of forensic anthropology.Jackie has worked at Wessex Archaeology as both a Senior Fieldwork Director reporting on a wide range of excavations, and the Senior Osteoarchaeologist since 1994. She undertakes the assessment and analysis of the unburnt human remains from both in-house excavations and external clients. Show less «
