Jack Grinhaus was born in Toronto, Canada, on 28th July 1975 and began performing for his parents and their friends by the age of five. By age ten he was performing and directing in school, camp, community and regional theatre productions. Landing a contestant role on the popular television game show, "Just Like Mom", brought him to the attention of producers, auditions and commercial roles. He spent the next 10 years training, traveling and performing around the world, receiving an MFA and BA Honours from York University's Theatre program as well as an Associate Degree in Acting from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City and training with many renowned artists such as Uta Hagen, Anne Bogart and the SITI Company, and Graham McLaren. After working Off Broadway and Touring the U.S with the show, Tour De France, he began acting in films such as Gurdamilia; a hit at the 1998 New York Short Film Festival. He soon returned to Toronto and continued performing, winning a THEA award for his performance in a production of Brighton Beach Memoirs. He began directing and continues to act, most recently seen the Lifetime Network film, 'Who is Clark Rockefeller' and as a returning character, Malcolm Brenner, on the hit Television series 'Mayday'. Jack was also the lead in the HBO pilot, Life, for 1ne Media amongst other short films and television productions. He recently was nominated for two Dora Mavor Moore Awards (Toronto Theatre Awards) and has worked and mentored with established companies and artists, including Robert Lepage and Ex-Machina, Morris Panych, Soulpepper Theatre, Canadian Stage and as Asspcoate Apprentice Artistic Director, under Susan Ferley, at The Grand Theatre for their 2012/13 season. He lives, performs, and directs in Toronto and is Co-Artistic Director of the innovative theatre company, Bound to Create Theatre. Show less «
