Jack Copland was born in Kelowna, British Columbia and raised in Mississauga, Ontario. He grew up impersonating his teachers, prank-calling with friends, and playing competitive sports. After graduating high school as Athlete of the Year, he attended Western University, graduating with an Honours Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business and minoring in Theatre Studies.It was at Western where Jack first began acting, appearing in numerous theatre productions and short films. His role as 'R.P. McMurphy' in Theatre Western's production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was nominated for Best Actor at the Annual Brickenden Awards (2016), and his turn as 'Juror #3' in Twelve Angry Men was celebrated as a "truly powerful performance" (stratfordfestivalreviews.com). When not on stage or in class, he was commuting down the road to Fanshawe College, where he starred in student films.He began studying at the George Brown Theatre School in 2017. Outside the classroom, Jack performed on a pirate ship for children's parties and in short plays with the Newmarket National Play Festival. In 2019, he appeared in his first season of repertory theatre with Theatre on the Ridge (Port Perry, Ontario), with lead roles in their productions of The Importance of Being Earnest, Venus in Fur, and The Wind in the Willows. That year, he also played disturbed photographer 'Henri' in the independent short film Pink Rabbit, which was screened at the 2020 Bucheon International Film Festival in South Korea and at the 2021 Amsterdam Imagine Film Festival.Now a graduate of Theatre School (Honours, 2020), Jack can be heard as the voice of jovial hockey bro 'Wayne' in the animation series Total Drama Island (Cartoon Network) and has appeared on the Canadian staple Murdoch Mysteries (CBC).In his free time, Jack enjoys volunteering with the Young People's Theatre and developing projects with his production company, Rainy Day Films Ltd.
