Humberto Meza

Humberto Meza, was born in Santiago, Mexico. At an early age, Meza was diagnosed with polio, a viral disease that can cause paralysis and death. Poverty-stricken, Meza's parents were unable to afford the proper health-care he needed and his future looked bleak, until his aunt and uncle came into the picture. His biological mother, Marisela Lomeli, then left Santiago for a better life in Tijuana, Baja California. During her time in Tijuana, overwhelmed with two other boys. One older and one younger than her stricken son, she prayed for help.While visiting her family in Mexico, Olivia Meza and her husband Ignacio Meza, sister to Marisela witnessed Humberto's struggle as he dragged himself to get around. They knew the odds were stacked against him and that he wouldn't survive the disease if he stayed in Mexico. In a heart-wrenching decision, Humberto's mother allowed his aunt and uncle to take him back with her to San Jose, California, and welcomed Humberto into their home with open arms. Soon after, they legally adopted him and saw him through all the challenges he faced throughout his childhood, including surgeries and coping with a limp, a result of the polio. With the support and love of his adoptive parents, Meza pulled through and wholly embraced the "glass half-full" philosophy that he lives by today.Meza was first introduced to the film industry in 1994, while on a dinner date. The Coasters, an American rhythm and blues/rock and roll vocal group, gave a musical performance in the venue that he was having the dinner date at. After their performance, a film producer approached Meza and encouraged him to fill in as a background actor on the film, "Angels in the Outfield." There, he had the great opportunity of working alongside an amazing cast, composed of: Christopher Lloyd, Danny Glover and Tony Danza. Meza fell in love with the film industry the second he stepped in front of the camera.Meza's hard work and determination, landed him on the set of many other blockbuster films such as, Larger than Life with Bill Murray, Metro with Eddie Murphy and The Net with Sandra Bullock. In 1998, with only $800 to his name, he decided to pursue his dream and headed for Los Angeles. There, he worked as a temp for countless companies that helped him build his repertoire. He even had a chance to work as a Strike Coordinator for the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) during the 2000 Commercial Strike. There he met many great actors who motivated and encouraged him to continue to pursue his acting career.From 2002 to 2005, Meza worked in many bit parts that inspired him to write and produce his own stand-up comedy live show, 2 Crazy Comedy in January of 2007. Meza has always felt that comedy is a unique art form, one that has the power to immediately uplift the spirit and cure life's ailments. With this mindset he conducted his new venture. In 2 Crazy Comedy, he chose to only showcase the most talented, brilliant, stand-up comedians in a clean atmosphere and environment. After several years of hosting his own shows, Meza took the plunge and decided to do his own stand-up at various comedy clubs around the LA area. It was then that he knew he was on the right track to building a successful career.He later went on to star in his own short film, "Liberating H." a film about a radio show host who is also a divorced father of four. The film is about trying to manage a career, being a good father and amicably dealing with an ex-wife while they all wreak havoc in his personal life and at home. With his ambitious work ethic and his personal motto, "There are no limits to success!" Meza also took up a production job on the documentary "The Princess of Salsa." Since then, Meza has gone on to produce and act in a variety of independent films, including "The Journey," winner of the FAIF International Film Festival Judge's Choice Award.Meza recently finished writing his first book, "Parenting like a Rockstar."
