Howard was born in London on 6th September 1983 and studied at Kingston College from 2000 to 2005, gaining a diploma in Performing Arts before returning to obtain a BA in stage and media acting. Then he enrolled at the Drama Centre in London, being awarded a Leverhulme scholarship as well as the Lady Rothermere award for the most promising student of his year. On graduation he embarked on an illustrious classical stage career, particularly with the Royal Shakespeare Company, including as Orsino in 'Twelfth Night', Malcolm in 'Macbeth' , Pompey in 'Measure for Measure' and Gratiano in 'The Merchant of Venice' as well as Rupert Goold's production of 'Enron' at the Royal Court Theatre and in 2012 in the Young Vic's 'Blackta', a new play bemoaning the lack of theatrical opportunities for non-whites, performed by an all-black cast. Howard made his television debut in 2008 in retro sitcom 'Beautiful People' but from 2014 on-wards has become established as Porthos, one of 'The Musketeers' in a series based on the characters created by Alexandre Dumas. In January 2016 he was involved in a serious road accident caused by an inebriated man but fortunately recovered to continue performing on stage and screen. Show less «
