Heitor Teixeira Pereira was born in Brazil and has worked for Brazilian jazz musicians such as Ivan Lins and Lani Hall. In July 1988 he joined Simply Red as a guitarist and stayed with the band until 1996. During that time he shortened his name to Heitor TP. In 1994 he released a solo album called "Heitor" with the help of some of the other Simply Red musicians.
