George Dawes Green is an American novelist and the founder of the New York City based,non-profit storytelling organization The Moth. The idea for The Moth came from evenings Green spent staying up late with friends, exchanging stories, while moths flitted around the lights. Mr. Green was born in Idaho, where his father published a weekly newspaper, and his mother is from Georgia. Mr. Green lives in Savannah, Georgia and New York City.Green published his first novel, The Caveman's Valentine, in 1994, and it was adapted into a film. He followed with The Juror in 1995, also adapted into a film. His latest novel "Ravens" was published in 2009. Set in Green's native Georgia, "Ravens" was critically acclaimed and hailed by the LA Times as "a triumphant return." Show less «
