George Anthony Bell has been working as a professional actor for over 25 years. Currently Mr. Bell can be seen on the Emmy nominated new hit Disney series Even Stevens (2000), playing the role of Principal Wexler. On the big screen and in television you may recognize him in House Party 2 (1991), The Even Stevens Movie (for Disney), Deadly Delusions, Ally McBeal, Becker, E.R., City Of Angels, The Practice, The Parkers, Maybe It's Me (recurring role), Disney's Disneyland: Polly (1989), and Polly: Comin' Home! (1990) and Sister, Sister. Also, Mr. Bell has numerous commercials running throughout the country (Western Union, Lexus, Alka-Seltzer, Robitussin, Velveeta, Minute Maid, Pennzoil, and the U.S. Postal Service).He made his Broadway debut as the Evil Wazir opposite Eartha Kitt in Geoffrey Holder's musical extravaganza, Timbuktu! He has also appeared on Broadway and in Los Angeles with the original company of Ain't Misbehavin. George opened the Los Angeles run of 'Cats' at the Shubert Theatre starring as Old Deuteronomy in Andrew Lloyd Webber's mega hit, which ran for two years. A graduate of the Los Angles Music Center's Musical Theatre Workshop, Mr. Bell has toured the U.S. in the National companies of The Wiz (as the Lion), Porgy And Bess (as Jake), and Raisin (Asagai). Regionally, Mr. Bell appeared in Roar Of The Greasepaint, Guys And Dolls (as Nicely, Nicely), My One And Only (as Rev. J.D. Montgomery), The Boys Next Door (as Lucien), and The Boys Of Summer (as Roy Campanella), where he received a Los Angeles Drama-Logue Award.His career has taken him throughout Europe, where he has sung as a featured soloist in some of Europe's major cathedrals and concert halls. Mr. Bell hosted and narrated a series of young people's concerts with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, at the Los Angeles Music Center; introducing young people to some of classical music's most famous works, with Esa-Pekka Salonen conducting.Also a noted night club entertainer, Mr. Bell has performed his club act across the country. He has sung as featured soloist in special concerts for Michael Eisner and the Disney Organization and, George's acting and singing voice can be heard on the Nickelodeon animated cartoon Blotto. Aside from acting and singing, Mr. Bell was the acting and dialogue coach for Steven Spielberg's film Hook, Hallmark's Gulliver's Travels and the WB series Sister, Sister. He has just finished filming the newest Coen Brothers movie (Lady Killers) starring Tom Hanks in Mississippi. It is scheduled for release in the spring of 2004. He plays the "Preacher". George has a recurring role on the critically acclaimed WB series The Gilmore Girls as a professor at Yale University. Show less «
