Gene Gallerano is an Emmy Award-winning producer, actor and filmmaker.Gene most recently produced the TV series Edge of the Unknown with Jimmy Chin with Academy Award winners Jimmy Chin and Chai Vasarhelyi (Free Solo, Meru, The Rescue) for National Geographic and Disney+. The series featured elite adventure athletes Alex Honnold, Jimmy Chin, Justine Dupont, Conrad Anker, Travis Rice, Angel Collinson, Gerd Serrasolses, Sarah McNair-Landry, Will Gadd and Ben Stookesberry.Gene was a Co-Producer on the Emmy Award-winning film The First Wave, a documentary directed by Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Matthew Heineman (Cartel Land, Tiger) for Nat Geo, Participant and Neon released on Hulu. For the film Gene spent hundreds of hours embedded in New York ICUs while the city was the epicenter of the global Covid-19 pandemic. The First Wave won Emmy awards for Best Documentary, Best Cinematography and Best Editing.He got his start in the entertainment industry as an actor in a bit role in the film Bottle Rocket by Wes Anderson.His narrative and documentary films have played over 100 film festivals around the world from Tribeca to Anchorage and feature many celebrated actors including Meryl Streep, Natalie Portman, Ethan Hawke, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Peter Sarsgaard, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Denis O'Hare, Olympia Dukakis, Peri Gilpin, Reed Birney, Paul Benjamin, and Lorelei Linklater.
