An archaeologist specialising in community-based research approaches and the material legacy of recent conflict with over 15 years professional, academic and voluntary expertise in the archaeology, museums and heritage sector. Gavin's wartime research has focused on the islands of Orkney in the European Theatre of Operations and Peleliu, Republic of Palau in the Pacific Theatre of Operations during WWII. He has a broad knowledge of WWII with widely transferable skills in the assessment and interpretation of conflict sites, material and ordnance to a range of general and specialist audiences. Skills and expertise also extend to earlier periods of conflict and other types of archaeology, notably Scottish prehistory and the Roman presence. Show less «
