Erin Lear is the youngest of twelve grandchildren of William P. Lear, inventor of the car radio, 8-track stereo, the automatic pilot system, and most notably, the Learjet. Erin was born in Reno, Nevada, to the parents of David and Sally Lear. Her mother is an established producer and casting director in Los Angeles. The family's show business roots go back to her vaudevillian great-grandfather (Ole Olsen), and include her Uncle Adam West, famous as the original Batman.Erin started modeling and acting at the age of one, in a national ad campaign for JC Penny. By the age of six, she was doing TV acting on _"Unsolved Mysteries" (1989)_, and at eleven playing Tommy Lee Jones' daughter in Cobb (1994).Acting was put on hold during her school years. She attended East Coast high school, and was active in athletics and drama, in addition to being a high achiever in academics. Erin played all varsity sports, including serving as the captain of the lacrosse team at Hyde Boarding School, and receiving a New England All-Star Award for lacrosse and soccer. She also played point-guard for the basketball team. She won the School's Drama Award and had solo singing parts in the school's major annual performances.On the work experience side, at the young age of 17, she jumped into the internet revolution by joining an internet company, 2by2.net, as an independent representative. She also worked as a production assistant for NuImage Millennium films, and assisted her mother in the casting office.At present (2002), Erin resides in Los Angeles resuming her passion for acting. She is currently waitressing, studying exclusively with acting coach John Homa, and has done a couple acting projects since. She will be attending Santa Monica Junior College in the fall (2003). She is writing a screen play based on a true story of her being kidnapped for a huge ransom by a gang of for men when she was eight months old, surviving only because one of the kidnappers had a change of heart and turned himself and his accomplices into the FBI.
