Dianne Buckner is a Canadian television journalist who graduated from Ryerson's University 's journalism program. She grew up in Scarborough, a district within the eastern part of Toronto, Ontario. Prior to joining CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation), she spent at CTV five years at CTV Television Network, where she was a network host of the popular consumer affairs show "Live It Up!". She also reported for CTV National News and was back-up host for Canada AM. She moved to CBC Television in 1991, as a reporter with the award-winning business affairs show "Venture", eventually working her way up to host and executive producer of the program. When "Venture" retired from the airwaves in 2007, Dianne co-created Fortune Hunters for CBC Newsworld, a program focused on Entrepreneurship in which she is also the host and executive producer. In addition to "Dragon's Den", Dianne reports on news breaking stories in the world of business for CBC's local 6 o'clock newscasts across the country, and writes a column for cbcnews.ca about small business. She also argues regularly with Kevin O'Leary as a back-up host on his daily business show "The Lang and O'Leary Exchange", which airs on CBC News Network. She is in demand as a public speaker , working both with Speakers' Spotlight, and the National Speakers Bureau. She is also speaking at the Women in Leadership Foundation's Toronto Women in Business luncheon. She is an incredibly versatile presenter and producer who has hosted programs on both of Canada's major networks, from national newscasts to quirky magazine shows. Dianne Buckner is a skilled interviewer, writer, and producer, and an accomplished speaker. She lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with her husband, son, and daughter. She is a long-time Danforth resident, living in an apartment in the Broadview/Danforth area. Her parents attended Danforth Tech, a local high school. Her husband plays hockey with friends at the East York arena every Friday and her daughter takes ballet at Pegasus Studios.
