Derrek Peels

Derrek Peels is the son of the now deceased (Leon Peels). Leon was a song writer / lead singer, in a four man group called the Blue Jays in the early 60's. Derrek also had dreams, although his dreams were more physical in nature; the apple didn't fall far. Derrek was a running back in the (Canadian Football League) for ten years. Shortly after hanging up his cleats, live theater and then acting in films. As time went by, Derrek started doing stunts; that landed him on movie sets working with Mark Wahlberg, Jamie foxx, Denzel Washington, Terrance Howard, Curtis Jackson (50 cents) Ving Rhames, and Edward Norton to name a few. As a stuntman Derrek has performed in: The Big Hit / Get Rich or Die Tryin / Four Brothers / The Hulk / Max Payne / Tiger Claws II / Bite / Legion of Gator Face / Demolisher / Motives and Murders / Defective. Derrek grew up in Venice California, he left to pursue his professional football career in 1980 with the Winnipeg Blueboomers (C.F.L.)...Two weeks before reporting to football camp, Derrek's cousin Rodney Evans; was shoot in a drive-by in South Central Los Angeles. Rodney later died in Martin Luther King Hospital. Derrek always felt Rodney was his biggest fan. Rodney only lived to hear that Derrek' s dreams of becoming a professional football player came true. For Derrek, Rodney's death became more of a reason to succeed with his dreams, Derrek knew Rodney was continuing to cheer him on in the heavens; and yes, Derrek made the team that year. Derrek's pursuit in becoming an actor still to this day lives on, as well as the memories he still holds for his biggest fan, his cousin Rodney Evans. Show less «
